This is where you get to know your coach, and you begin to see the process is manageable!
- Review responses to The College Coaches’ pre-meeting questionnaires for the student and parent
- Discuss current classes and academic rigor
- Explore broad requirements for choosing a college
- Definitions and advantages/disadvantages of various application types
- Advise if and when to take standardized tests
- Discuss class selection
- Explain importance of extracurricular activities
- Discuss timing and impact of recommendations

College List Development & Review
Exploratory College List (Head Coach Completes)
- Leverages 15-45 years of experience from a counselor who has seen 200-400 schools
- The list will be balanced and is customized to the student’s needs and preferences
- Typically includes 15-25 schools to explore and refine over time
- Additional detail provided from school webinars/campus tours and knowledge
- List has input from entire team
Huddle Up (Meeting)
- Explain likely/target/reach and total number of applications recommended
- Discuss strategies for visiting colleges
- Provide tools to track visits

Common Application Activities and Completion
This includes two meetings with the student (only) to complete the common application (excludes essay coaching and review)
