The mission of the College Coaches is to assist and guide the student and his or her family through the college application process, working as a team and ending with a favorable outcome: “a winning season!” Our philosophy is to listen to what our families concerns are, and we address them. We serve as coaches — moving the student forward, while encouraging and supporting throughout the game of the college process.

The goal is to have the student’s applications put him or her in the best possible light for admission. The process should be as stress-free as possible, and the college selection experience should be a positive one.
The philosophy of The College Coaches is to find a good fit between the student and the college. The coach strives to get to know each student personally so that she can better match his or her personality and academic aims with the right college.

The College Coaches have a variety of Services to choose from billed on an hourly basis. This allows families to only pay for what they need. Meetings are scheduled online over Zoom or at home offices, depending upon the coach.
The founder of The College Coaches, Kathleen Glynn-Sparrow has been providing college consulting services for 25 years both at high schools in Maryland as well as through her private consulting business. She has literally written the book on college counseling and has hundreds of delighted clients. Kathleen was quoted in The New York Times in an article entitled “How to Find Trustworthy College Admissions Advice“. Kathleen has selectively added coaches to her team from MD, VA, PA, and Washington, DC.
