A crucial meeting with all to build a strategy to get into the schools identified!
- Review questionnaires with family
- Discuss current status of student’s progress and deadlines
- Advise on how student’s application will be read by colleges
- Discuss historical acceptance rates, test ranges, and test-optional admissions, when applicable
- Provide overview of merit and need-based financial aid
- Offer strategies for different types of admission plans
- Strategize on optimizing college fairs, admission rep visits to school, area programs
- Explain parent brag sheet and offer tips
- Send follow-up email with action items

Assess and Optimize College List
- Coach will assess current list and provide suggestions (done outside of meeting)
- Leverages 15-45 years of experience from a counselor who has seen 200-400 schools
- Ensures that the list will be balanced and is customized to the student’s needs and preferences
- Typically includes an additional 5-10 schools to consider

- Explain likely/target/reach and total number of applications recommended
- Review additions to list and rationale for fit and whether likely/target/reach
- Discuss strategies for visiting colleges
- Provide tools to track visits
- Review detail provided from school webinars/campus tours and knowledge
- Answer questions about the list, visiting, and next steps
Common Application Completion and Review

This includes two meetings with the student to complete the common application (excludes essay coaching and review)
- Ensure activity list is strategically arranged, with action verbs and impactful descriptions
- Review entire application to check for completion and any errors
- Send follow-up email to parents and students with action items

There are a lot of details to get right, in this meeting we confirm everything is on track
- Review of student progress
- Discuss colleges visited
- Answer any questions/challenges faced along the way
- Check-up on timeline and remaining tasks.
- Discuss whether interview practice is recommended
- Review list of schools with supplemental essays and discuss timeline and strategy to complete
Final Review of Applications (1st and Goal)

As we get towards application deadlines, confirm schools and identify final strategies for admission
- Ensure balanced list and collaborate on where/when to apply
- Review and finalize Early Action/Early Decision plan of action
- Answer any final questions and schedule any additional meetings as required
