This is where you get to know your coach, and assess critical priorities to address.
- Review responses to The College Coaches pre-meeting questionnaires
- Discuss advantages/disadvantages of various application types
- Provide timeline to meet college application deadlines
- Review existing college list to ensure balance
- Explain likely/target/reach and total number of applications recommended
- Discuss strategies for visiting colleges given remaining time
- Check status of essay
- Review parent brag sheet and offer examples
- Strategize on optimizing college fairs and rep visits
Application Strategy
Game Plan
A crucial meeting to build a strategy to get into the schools identified!
- Advice on how student will be read
- Discuss historical acceptance rates, test ranges
- Provide overview of merit and financial aid
- Offer strategies for EA/REA/ED/RD/Rolling
- Discuss importance of Common Application activities
- Explain supplemental essays
- Review recommended resources (books and online)
Final Review of Applications
1st and Goal
As we get towards application deadlines, confirm schools and identify final strategies for admission
- Ensure balanced list and collaboration on where/when to apply
- Schedule and strategy for supplemental essays if needed
