Application Assessment

We will assess your college list, how you will be read and your academic record and test scores.  We will make a plan to make the process manageable!

• Review responses to The College Coaches’ pre-meeting questionnaires for the student and parent
• Discuss current classes and academic rigor
• Discuss current status of student’s progress and deadlines
• Discuss timing and impact of recommendations
• Advise on how student’s application will be read by colleges
• Offer strategies for different types of admission plans
• Review current college list
• Explain parent brag sheet and offer tips
• Send follow-up email with action items
• Players: Parent(s) and Student

Assess and Optimize College List (Huddle-Up)

• Coach will review the current list from the family and provide feedback on the list and additional schools to consider.
• Explain likely/target/reach and total number of applications recommended
• Review additions to list and rationale for fit and whether likely/target/reach
• Review detail provided from school webinars/campus tours and knowledge
• Answer questions about the list and next steps

The student should have a draft of their Common Application essay for review ahead of this meeting or the essay will take 3-4 hours start to finish (2 budgeted).

Check In (30 Minutes)

Answer top questions from family and provide guidance on completing application.

The student should have started on the Common Application ahead of this meeting and have a master list of all of their activities.

Final Review of Applications (1st and Goal)

As we get towards application deadlines, confirm schools and identify final strategies for admission

• Ensure balanced list and collaborate  on where/when to apply
• Review and finalize Early Action/Early Decision plan of action
• Answer any final questions and schedule any additional meetings as required
