- Review responses to The College Coaches’ pre-meeting questionnaires
- Discuss current classes and academic rigor
- Explore broad requirements for choosing a college
- Provide timeline for college application process
- Advise if and when to take standardized tests
- Explain importance of extracurricular activities
- Strategy for summer activities
Develop Exploratory College List
1st and 10
- Leverages 15-45 years of experience from a counselor who has seen 200-400 schools
- The list will be balanced and is customized to the student’s needs and preferences
- Typically includes 12-20 schools to consider
- Additional detail provided from school webinars/campus tours and knowledge
College List Review
Huddle Up
- Explain likely/target/reach and total number of applications recommended
- Discuss strategies for visiting colleges
- Provide tools to track visits
Detailed Check-In
End of Pre-Season
There are a lot of details to get right, in this meeting we confirm everything is on track
- Review of student progress
- Discuss colleges visited
- Answer any questions/challenges faced along the way
- Discuss summer activities and planned classes
- Setup next steps for junior year
